My Visit to the Farm

Over the weekend I drove up to the St. Cloud area and visited my cousins. I went to a 25th surprise birthday party for one of my cousins and it was great! We had snacks and I got to catch up with a lot of my mom’s side of the family. I also played with two baby cousins for a few hours. Who could go wrong with that?

So, I stayed overnight at my cousin’s farm on Friday night. I woke up at 6 a.m. for chores! That’s a big deal for me since I usually sleep until 10 or 11 a.m. on weekends (don’t judge). My cousin did her business milking the cows, but I helped with sweeping hay.

I mostly stayed busy keeping her puppy, Hatchet, and barn cat, Merle, away from each other. Those two are ruthless! Hatchet actually put his mouth around Merle’s tail and yanked. It was hilarious but also terrifying.

I loved visiting the farm for a night. Sometimes surrounding yourself with family is all you need to clear your head. I warned you I was a country girl wannabe, didn’t I?

  1. Our dog gets our cat down and just holds it down in her mouth. So when the cat resurfaces (or mom gets on to the dog), her fur is all wet and matted. It’s actually kind of funny, mostly because we’re pretty sure the cat eggs it on and runs after the dog on a regular basis.
